Pro Ultrarunner and Endorf team member Elliot Cardin opens up about what drives him to reach optimal levels physically and mentally.

 

We've formulated five questions in an effort to extract relevant opinions and wisdom that can be shared amongst our community.

 

II) How much effort do you think you allocate to the mental side of your training conditioning? 

A shit load

II) How often do you encounter failure (either in training or in competing) and how do you interact with it during/after it has held you back from your goal?

Failure is part of growth! If you are striving for constant improvement you have to accept setbacks and maintain a positive outlook.

III) What is your main source of motivation that allows you to elevate your game beyond 100%? In other words, what is it within you that accounts for that extra push when you really need it? 

The love of sport and nature! I don’t do ultras for fame. I’m doing it(Ultras) to push my limits and reach a level where being in nature and going out and training every day could be my full-time job! This motivates me to push further and reach my dream.

V) have you ever experienced psychedelic mushrooms .. if so what kind? 

  I am not a fan of drugs and alcohol or any mind-altering substances that could make me lose control of my mind. I really like being grounded. I’m really into natural medicine however micro dosing seems to be very nice(Interesting) to heal some serious mental illnesses like depression and anxiety.
